Structures (templates)

Pick one structure and fill it. Structure prevents rambling — and makes your ending feel earned.

Micro 3-Act (4–6 lines)
Template: Setup → Problem → Choice → Result

Tips

  • Keep one character.
  • One problem only.
  • End with consequence.
Twist Ending (3–5 lines)
Template: Assumption → Clue → Reveal

Tips

  • Seed one small clue early.
  • Reveal should reframe the first line.
Reversal (4–6 lines)
Template: I wanted X → I got X → it cost Y → I chose Z

Tips

  • Make the cost specific.
  • Final choice is the emotional payoff.
Lesson Story (4–7 lines)
Template: Moment → Mistake → Realization → New rule

Tips

  • The “new rule” can be the last line quote.

How to choose one fast

If you have…
  • a lesson: use “Lesson Story”
  • a surprise reveal: use “Twist Ending”
  • a decision moment: use “Micro 3-Act”
