Safety rules (must-have)

These rules prevent 90% of “that got weird” moments.

Non-negotiables

  • Pass is always allowed (no explanation).
  • No filming/posting without permission.
  • No touching dares unless all involved explicitly say yes.
  • No illegal/dangerous/messy dares.
  • If someone says “stop,” it ends immediately.
Host tip: say the pass rule out loud before the first turn. People relax instantly.

Fun custom rules (pick your set)

  • Timer mode: 20 seconds max for any dare.
  • Two-choice rule: every turn offers Prompt A or Prompt B.
  • Whisper round: for 5 minutes, everyone whispers dares.
  • Emoji round: truths must include your most-used emoji.
  • Accent round: pick a silly accent (nothing offensive) for 2 turns.
  • Charades round: dares must be silent for 3 rounds.
  • Compliment tax: if you pass, give a 1-sentence compliment.
  • Snack duty pass: if you pass, you’re snack captain for 1 round.
  • Reverse round: you dare the person who dared you (once).
  • Category lock: 10 minutes of “funny only” truths (no deep stuff).
  • Story chain: each truth adds 1 sentence to a shared story.
  • Team mode: split into teams; teams pick dares for the other team.
  • PG mode: ban “crush” questions and keep everything non-romantic.
  • No-repeat rule: no one can repeat a dare type (dance, voice, etc.) twice.
  • Wildcard cards: 3 cards like “skip,” “swap,” “double dare.”
  • Kindness finale: last 3 turns are compliments only.
